From choosing funeral music to hosting a reception, we are here to guide and assist you in creating a personal, touching ceremony.
J T Byrne Funeral Directors aims to alleviate the stress of planning a funeral by providing guidance and a variety of options such as personalising the funeral music, organising a reception and printing commemorative stationary. We have over 20 years of experience as independent family run funeral directors in Thornton-Cleveleys and Lancashire, allowing us to provide a compassionate and knowledgeable service.
Choosing The Funeral Music
A funeral ceremony is intended to reflect the life of the deceased, allowing family and friends to pay their last respects in a manner that their loved one would have wanted. Funeral music can be a wonderful way to reflect the tastes, character and personality of your lost loved one, creating an uplifting atmosphere for the ceremony. J T Byrne Funeral Directors are part of the Wesley Music Scheme, which allows us to source a wide variety of music; this means that you simply need to tell us the name of the song and artist in order to ensure a fitting musical tribute to your loved one.

Supporting pallbearers
We are happy to provide professional uniformed pallbearers to carry the coffin into the funeral service, but we also understand that family members may wish to take on this duty as a mark of respect to the deceased. We actively support and encourage this decision, and do our best to accommodate any alternative requests you may have. At J T Byrne Funeral Directors, we understand the importance of selecting pallbearers who can carry out this responsibility with dignity and respect we work closely with you to identify individuals who will be able to help.
Tasteful receptions and catering
A wake or memorial reception allows attendees to gather, reminisce about the deceased and continue the grieving process. At J T Byrne Funeral Directors you can hire a catering service that suits your needs, or organise for catering to deliver to your home should you wish to host the reception there. We can also arrange for the catering invoice to be sent to us to settle on your behalf for a simple 10% additional fee. Here at J T Byrne we offer livestream services so nobody misses out on a beautiful service.
Commemorative stationery
Many families choose to order commemorative stationery as a lasting memorial of their loved one. These include orders of service which can feature a photograph of your loved one, a message or chosen verse. In addition being a guide to the service, they are also touching keepsakes. You may also choose to have thank you cards made to acknowledge the presence of those who have come to pay their respects, or an In Memoriam book that allows attendees to leave messages of support or memories of the deceased. We also offer bookmarks as an alternative to a full order of service. All of our options are reasonably priced and can be tailored to your requirements, so please do not hesitate to ask.
